In terms of the broad based black economic empowerment Act of 2003, BBBEE have been divided into two (2) separate and independent processes namely Verification and Consultation. Organisations acting as consultants may not give BBBEE ratings and Organisations giving BBBEE ratings may not consult.

If your Company does not have a rating, you will not be able to supply goods or services to approximately 90% of organisations in South Africa within the next two (2) years. It is therefore better to be pro-active than reactive. To obtain a BBBEE rating is a slow and painful process, it is thus better to start as soon as possible. The BBBEE act deals with the score or rating of an organisation on the generic scorecard as developed by Government. The scorecard consist of 7 elements. These elements are as follows:-
