Employment Equity

The ECS Group encourages all the companies it works with to adhere to all labour laws including the Employment Equity Act. We can give information and advice on the act to our clients.

The Employment Equity Act (EEA) requires that any organisation with more than 50 employees or has an annual turnover of a certain amount should complete an Employment Equity Report for the Department of Labour.

The purpose of this act is to ensure that all races and genders are equally represented in the workforce of a company from the unskilled labourers to those in executive positions.

The Department of Statistics provides information on the current population and the EE ratios to be adhered to are based on these censuses.

We help our clients put together an Employment Equity Committee as required by the Act as well as put in place policies and procedures that adhere to it.

Of importance are the EEA2 Report and the EEA4 Report.

The EEA2 Report requires information on your organisation’s race and gender composition with a focus on previously disadvantaged groups such as white women and black employees. The report aims to show the positions these previously disadvantaged groups hold n the company.

The EEA4 Report focuses on the income levels of all employees and aims to compare them across the organisation.

All reports are due for submission before the 1st of October every year. Failure to submit them may result in penalties of hefty fines or even imprisonment.

We assist our clients with the following EE related issues:

We help our clients compile EEA2 and EEA4 reports to be sent to the Department of Labour.

The ECS Group helps its clients draw up their employment equity plans for the company as this shows the Department of Labour that they aim to improve on EE in their organisation.

We can also assist with the filling out of EEA1 forms by employees on behalf of our clients.

The Layout and Management of an EEA plan is very important and we are able to help our clients conduct this area of business.

In addition, Development Pathways for employment equity in the organisation can be arranged and managed by us.
